Ingredients
1 medium very ripe banana
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon white sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
⅛ teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
1 tablespoon milk
⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips (optional)
6 banana slices for topping
1 tablespoon white sugar for topping
Instructions
1. Mash banana in a bowl until smooth.
2. Add both sugars, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir well.
3. Mix in melted butter, milk, and vanilla until fully combined.
4. Stir in flour just until mixed. Do not overmix.
5. Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips if using.
6. Divide batter evenly into two buttered mugs.
7. Tap mugs gently to release air pockets.
8. Microwave each mug separately for 1 minute.
9. Let cool slightly before serving.
10. Top with banana slices and sugar. Brulee tops if desired.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and texture.
