Ingredients
1 medium overripe banana
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon white sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
⅛ teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons melted butter (unsalted)
1 tablespoon milk
⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
1. Mash the banana in a small mixing bowl until smooth.
2. Add brown sugar, white sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir well.
3. Pour in melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix until fully combined.
4. Fold in flour gently until just mixed. Avoid overmixing.
5. Add optional chocolate chips or walnuts if desired.
6. Divide batter between two lightly buttered mugs.
7. Tap mugs gently to remove air bubbles.
8. Microwave each mug separately for about 1 minute.
9. Check doneness with a toothpick — it should come out mostly clean.
10. Let cool slightly before serving. Top with banana slices or sugar if you like.
Notes
Microwave times may vary — start with 1 minute and adjust if needed.
Use a very ripe banana for the best flavor and texture.
Customize with cinnamon, nutmeg, or a spoonful of Nutella for added indulgence.
