Description
Caramel apple mug cake with applesauce, flour, sugar — the ultimate quick fall dessert in one mug. Sweet, soft, and ready in 90 seconds.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons applesauce
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ small Gala apple, finely chopped
Microwave caramel sauce (for serving)
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
1. In a 12-ounce microwave-safe mug, combine flour, applesauce, sugar, milk, baking powder, and vanilla.
2. Stir thoroughly using a rubber spatula to ensure no dry flour remains at the bottom.
3. Add chopped apple and mix again until evenly distributed.
4. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds. The cake may rise above the rim.
5. Let the cake rest in the microwave for 2 minutes to finish setting.
6. Top with caramel sauce, and if desired, whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
7. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
Use Gala, Honeycrisp, or Fuji apples for the best sweet-tart flavor.
Check mug corners for flour pockets before cooking.
If making two or more cakes, microwave them separately for best results.
This cake is best eaten warm, immediately after cooking.
