Description
This gooey and rich healthy mug cake no sugar is naturally sweetened with maple syrup and ready in under 1 minute for a guilt-free chocolate treat.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons oil (canola, coconut, or vegetable)
1 tablespoon lactose-free or plant-based milk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 pinch flaky sea salt
1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Combine maple syrup, oil, and milk in a microwave-safe mug.
Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and sea salt until batter is thick and smooth.
Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkle some on top.
Microwave for 30 seconds, then in 15-second intervals until the center is just set.
Let rest for 30 seconds and enjoy warm.
Notes
For a cakier texture, microwave fully to 60 seconds. For a gooey center, stop at 45 seconds. Use applesauce instead of oil for a lower-fat version.
