Ingredients
¼ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup hot cocoa mix
¼ cup whole milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
Pinch of salt
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips
Marshmallows, for topping
Hot fudge sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
Add flour, cocoa mix, sugar, baking powder, and salt to a large microwave-safe mug.
Pour in melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and no dry spots remain.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Microwave on high for 90 seconds to 2 minutes, checking at 1:30 for doneness.
Let cool for 1–2 minutes.
Top with marshmallows and hot fudge sauce. Torch the marshmallows if desired.
Enjoy warm.
Notes
Use a 12-ounce mug to prevent overflow.
Do not overmix the batter just stir until combined.
Start checking the cake after 90 seconds; overcooking can cause dryness.
To make it richer, substitute chocolate milk or add a pinch of espresso powder.
