Description

Learn how to make a Nutella mug cake in just one minute using 3 simple ingredients — a quick, gooey dessert perfect for late-night cravings or anytime comfort.

Ingredients

¼ cup (75g) Nutella
1 large egg
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Optional: ½ teaspoon baking powder for extra fluff
Optional: chocolate chips, pinch of salt, vanilla extract, or a scoop of ice cream for topping

Instructions

In a large microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz), whisk the egg until smooth.
Add Nutella and mix well until fully incorporated.
Add flour (and baking powder if using) and stir gently until the batter is smooth.
Microwave on high for 50 to 60 seconds until the top looks set but soft in the center.
Let cool for 1–2 minutes. Top with desired toppings and enjoy warm.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter — stir just until smooth for the best texture.
Start with 50 seconds in the microwave, and add more time in 5-second bursts as needed.
Use a wide mug to prevent overflow during microwaving.
Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated for 10–15 seconds.
Optional toppings: vanilla ice cream, crushed hazelnuts, cocoa powder, whipped cream, espresso powder.
