Description
A rich, fudgy, single-serve chocolate mug cake no flour made with only three ingredients — cocoa powder, maple syrup, and egg. Gluten-free, flourless, and ready in just 2 minutes in the microwave.
Ingredients
1 egg
15 grams (2 tbsp) unsweetened cocoa powder
20 grams (2 tbsp) maple syrup
Optional Topping:
1 tsp cocoa powder
1–2 tsp milk of choice
Sweetener of choice
Instructions
1. Lightly grease a small microwave-safe mug with oil or butter.
2. Add egg, cocoa powder, and maple syrup to the mug. Mix well with a fork until smooth and lump-free.
3. Microwave on high for 30–60 seconds, depending on microwave strength. The cake should look set but still soft in the center.
4. Let your mug cake no flour rest for 5 minutes to set.
5. Mix cocoa powder, milk, and sweetener in a small bowl to form a glaze and pour over the cake before serving.
Notes
• Avoid overcooking your mug cake no flour or it will dry out. Start with 30 seconds and check.
• You can substitute maple syrup with honey or agave syrup for variation.
• For a keto version, replace syrup with a sugar-free sweetener and add 1 tbsp almond milk.
• Best served warm within 10 minutes of cooking.
