Description
A warm and spiced vanilla chai mug cake topped with cream cheese frosting. Made in under 5 minutes with pantry staples, perfect for cozy cravings.
Ingredients
Cake:
5 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. powdered chai latte mix
3 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. applesauce
1/2 tsp. oil
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Frosting:
1 tbsp. softened butter
2 tbsp. softened cream cheese
3 tbsp. powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Add all dry cake ingredients into a large microwave-safe mug.
2. Mix in the wet ingredients until smooth and fully combined.
3. Microwave on high for 2 minutes until cake rises and is set.
4. While cake is cooking, mix frosting ingredients in a sandwich bag.
5. Cut one corner of the bag to create a piping tip.
6. Let the cake cool for 2–3 minutes, then pipe the frosting on top.
7. Dust with extra chai powder if desired.
Notes
Use plant-based milk and butter for a dairy-free option.
Add mini white chocolate chips or a pinch of nutmeg for variation.
Great served with a cup of chai or rooibos tea.
