Ingredients
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp instant espresso powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp kosher salt
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, and salt in a microwave-safe mug
2. Stir dry ingredients until evenly mixed
3. Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract and stir until smooth
4. Fold in chocolate chips
5. Microwave on high for 1 minute 15 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds
6. Cake should be set but still soft in the center
7. Let cool for 2 to 3 minutes before topping and serving
Notes
Do not overcook or cake will dry out
Espresso powder enhances chocolate flavor without overpowering
